Project Management - Experience and views

Project management is all about planning the project, executing the tasks in planned manner, monitoring the activities and celebrating.

It is certainly not about “extempore” queries with the client, haphazard collection of information and reports and wasting organizations’ time and resources.

Time-factor can pose be a biggest challenge. Meeting deadlines and meeting customer expectations can be a great morale booster as it induces challenge and requires planned execution. Microsoft on how they go about project management. A project manager shrewdly drafts a project plan and calculates resource requirements. Then he simply reduces it. This creates a environment of urgency, gives direction to work and makes people overwork. Hmm… Objectivist’s delight, I would say!
